We work with local top guides
The guides we work with all are local and grew up on and in the water. Often they come form a family of fishermen and they spent their whole childhood learning how to ride a skiff, read the waves, the weather and have an unbelievable skill to spot fish in the water. Since June 2021 we have a cooperation with Charlie Leslie Fly Fishing but we also work with independent guides, who have established over the last year their returning clientele from all over the world. They are all great fly fishers and casters and are happy to show you some hints or if you wish to improve your skills too.
Here a short profile of some of them:
Charles leslie senior
50 years of experience in fishing the waters of Belize. Charlie Leslie Sr. got introduced to fly fishing in the 70's by the legendary Lefty Kreh. He also wrote the book "Fishing Guide to Belize. Needless to say that fishing with him is an unforgettable experience. Charlies approach to fishing is based on the tides, weather, migratory patterns and other conditions to ensure that our clients have the best opportunities to land the fish of a lifetime.
he got his first fly fishing rod from a client he took out fishing - the rod is no longer in use but the client still comes back every year and goes fly fishing with him. Arthur is humbled, honest and very experienced guide. He grew up in this area and knows exactly where to bring you for whatever species you are looking for.
Fly Fishing is his passion since more than 20 years. He is normally booked by "Repeat offenders" who just want to go out with him, as he is not only knowing the waters by heart - he seems to have a sixth sense for Permits and Co too! Bruce is 48 years old, lives in Mango Creek and might be more happy and exited when you catch a fish than you are..
In the past fly fishing was dominated by men and just a few women chose the sport as their passion. Times have changed and it's great to see that there is an increase of female fly fishers all over the world. Thats why Caroline came up with the idea to offer a "Ladies only" trip. To show you together with the local guide the basics and share her knowledge - as the transition from fresh water to salt water can be tricky. Or if you already have skills and just think a ladies tour would be great fun - ask your girls and let us know. Caroline is happy to support.
